Considering the geographic situation of Bandar Abbas, this port has a good opportunity to play
the Gateway role not only for Iran but also for all CIS countries. Its old names
are Gambroon, Gamron, Gamroo, and Gambroo, all coming from a well-known prawn
named Gabri.

required administrative and technical capabilities satisfying the requirement of
the modern shipping and is connected to the countrywide rail and road network
and is directly connected to the CIS in the north of Iran and Caspian Sea.
